Suspected insurgents have reportedly killed 10 soldiers and abducted one other on Monday in Borno State, a source has confirmed.
The incident, according to the source, occurred in Alagarno, in Damboa Local Government Area, even as defence authorities have yet to make clarifications.

Members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), engaged in a fierce confrontation with the soldiers along Alagarno road and eventually, 10 soldiers “paid the supreme price, while one soldier was captured,” he said.
During the attack, the insurgents stole four trucks and technical equipment belonging to the troops, according to the source.
In the same vein, patrols along the Gajiram road, Nganzai Local Government Area, have dislodged an armed unit of the insurgents who specialized in launching attacks using motorcycles.
An undisclosed number of the insurgents was killed while eight motorcycles were recovered, the source stated.
Additionally, one gun truck abandoned by the insurgents was taken away by the troops.
