Arnold ‘AJ’ Nobe better known as AJ200 has donated some articles of clothing and art supplies to 2 charities in a personal project which he tagged “EARLY XMAS”.
He said the aim of this donation to “Boys and girls clubs of North San Mateo County, South San Francisco, CA” and “Free Arts for Abused Children Los Angeles, California” is to encourage young kids to turn to art as a means of expression and as a therapeutic outlet.
Some of the supplies donated include, Sketch Books, Pencils, Pens, Charcoal Sticks, Crayons, Sharpeners, Tortillons, Charcoal Pencils, Erasers & paints. He also donated some clothes from his BENO WORLD CLOTHING collection.
“AJ200” who himself is a self taught graphic artist/designer and stylist started his career in the San Francisco, Bay Area.
According to him, the “pandemic lockdown has caused schools to be closed and helping these kids develop their art skills is a great way to ward off depression and also keep their minds busy and sharp while staying safe at home.
He said that he was motivated by the saying “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop” so he wants to keep their young minds busy.
He said finding art when he was younger helped kept him grounded and away from drugs and trouble.
He said as a kid, he was happiest around art and so he hopes this donation will do the same for these kids.
