The Spokesperson of House of Representatives, Rep. Benjamin Kalu (APC, Abia) has disclosed that, the expected visit by President Muhammadu Buhari will provide opportunity to discuss many issues affecting the nation.
He disclosed this on Thursday while briefing journalists on the decision of the president to honour the invitation by the House.

He however explained that, the House is not summoning the President as being insinuated, saying that, it was an invitation based on the exigencies of the time particularly on security challenges.
Kalu said, the invitation is not to ridicule the president like it was during the 8th Assembly over budget impasse.
According to him, the president refused to honour the invitations by the 8th Assembly leadership because it was an affront on his person and office in the circumstances.
He said that, the reason is not far fetched because the 8th Assembly invited the president while holding on to the budget for six months.
“I am not speaking for the President, but how can you invite him while holding on to the budget? Are inviting him to know how he is managing without a budget?,” he asked.
The Spokesperson said that, the House leadership and all its members were happy because the President has shown commitment and readiness to rub minds and work with the parliament on national issues.
According to him, although no date was fixed for the visit, it will be soonest because of the importance of the issue at hand.
