Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has disclosed that he has not being receiving his salaries since he became a governor in 2014.
The Governor made this known while addressing Anambra State workers at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.

According to Obiano he has continued to make the sacrifice monthly towards the improved welfare of Anambra State workers, so as to ensure they could receive their monthly allowance.
He said in spite of the present economic challenges in the country, his administration has maintained prompt payment of salaries and other allowances as well as payment of pensions and gratuity as and when due.
Construction and reconstruction
The governor stated that he would embark on construction and reconstruction of more economic roads as soon as the economy improves.
Obiano represented by the Heads of Service (HOS), Barr. Harry Udu said Obiano had sustained improvements in the welfare of workers in the state especially, thr prompt payment of salaries, release of training and re-training of workers.
“Despite the scourge and economic difficulties imposed by COVID-19 pandemic, salary alerts have been coming.’’
The Government has maintained prompt payment of salaries on every 25th of every month.
All state workers will as usual receive a bag of rice each for the yuletide season.
This is a gesture the Governor has made an annual ritual since inception of the administration” he said.
