Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a couple and one other for stealing a three-day-old baby boy from his parents’ residence at Sabon Garin Unguwan Mu’azu, Kaduna South Local Government Area of the state.
Arewa Trust Weekly reports that the baby was abducted on November 9, 2020 and recovered at Unguwan Baraya, Jos road, in Bauchi State on November 26.

The incident had caused fear among residents of Sabon Garin Unguwan Mu’azu when the mother of the infant, Bilkisu, appeared in a viral video clip narrating how she was deceived by a woman, named Amina, whom she met during her antenatal at the Yusuf Dan Tsoho hospital in Tudun Wada, Kaduna.
Bilkisu had explained how Amina deceived her under the pretence that while Bilkisu takes a bath, she volunteered to back the baby and run an errand for the new mum.
However, less than three weeks after the incident, the Kaduna State police command said it traced the suspects to their hideout at Unguwan Baraya, Jos road, in Bauchi where it arrested three of them and reunited the infant with his parents.
Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said the police identified the main suspect as Aisha Musa, who stole the three-day-old infant from Bilkisu, adding that Aisha’s husband, Kabiru Suleiman, and one Salamatu Musa were also arrested for conspiracy.
“We gathered sufficient intelligence and succeeded in arresting the suspects namely; Kabiru Suleiman, 30yrs (Husband), Aisha Musa, 19yrs (Wife) and Salamatu Musa, 27yrs of age, all residents of Abuja road, Rigasa,” he said.
The PPRO also said the suspect started nurturing the evil plan during Bilkisu’s early period of pregnancy by coming closer to the expectant mother in the guise of friendship and succeeded in whisking away the baby three days after delivery.
He said the suspects had confessed to the crime and will be charged to court soon.
Arewa Trust Weekly contacted the father of the infant, Malam Rabiu, who confirmed that his baby had been found and reunited with the family but declined to speak further with our reporter.
