The Coalition of Northern Groups on Sunday reiterated its call on citizens in northern communities to rise up and protect themselves.
The coalition made the call following the massacre of farmers in Zabarmari, Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

The spokesman of the coalition, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, said government and federal troops could no longer be relied upon to protect northern communities.
Suleiman, who said the current situation was not “tolerable”, demanded an immediate and comprehensive overhaul of the leadership of the nation’s military and entire security assets.
