A total of 129 students of Capital Science Academy, Kuje, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have graduated from its secondary school arm, with a call on them to be worthy ambassadors of the school as they go into the wider world.
The chairman of the school’s board of directors, Prof. Zaynab Alkali, while addressing the graduating students, said the school has risen above the pandemic challenges by providing high quality education to the children.
In his speech, the Acting Principal, Alhaji Bunuyaminu Yero said 2020 was “no doubt a special year in several ramifications and the graduating class of 2020 was also a special class in many ways.”
“You started your secondary school in 2014; you did not start in September as usual, you rather started in October of that year due to the Ebola virus epidemic. Here we are today graduating you in November instead of July due to a bigger reason, the coronavirus pandemic,” he said.
The incoming principal, Mrs Rachel Borland, assured parents of the school’s commitment to providing high quality education for their children, adding that this year’s slogan of resilience, recovery and rigour would be considered in every decision and action to take in the school.
The graduating students that distinguished themselves academically were recognised, with jubilant parents extolling the virtues the school has instilled in their wards.
