The Director of Administration of the centre, Bonat Moses, in a statement on Tuesday, said no fewer than four patients had met the necessary requirement for the surgery which was supposed to have begun before COVID-19.
Moses quoted the Medical Director of the centre, Dr Mustapha Abubakar Yaro, as saying the equipment to perform the surgery had been provided in collaboration with ‘Medel Group Egypt’.
He, however, solicited the support of the government and individuals for the programme as the cost of providing the implant to be put is expensive.
