Muslim organisation offers free treatment to diabetic patients in Kaduna

The Muslim World League (MWL) has offered free treatment to diabetic patients in Kaduna metropolis as part of activities marking this year’s World Diabetic Day.

The MWLM, through its Executive Affairs Agency, The International Organisation for Relief, Welfare and Development in Nigeria, held the programme at Shifa Hospital in Unguwan Kanawa, consisting of seminar lectures, awareness activities, free laboratory investigation and free medication to the patients.

The Acting Administrator of the Nigerian office, Al-Amin Ahmad Hamzah, said the programme was part of activities by MWL to alleviate the suffering of people with the disease around the world, especially the poor and needy.

“The late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, was one of the founding fathers of the Muslim World League, which has over 8,000 orphans under its care. This programme is very important because it will be beneficial to many Muslims across the country.

“It is also aimed at achieving comprehensive development and its pioneering performance is in the health field particularly and the humanitarian field in general.”

District Head of Unguwan Kanawa, Usman Abba Ibrahim, commended the initiative which, he said, would go a long way in helping members of his community and the state at large.
