Youths urged to be creative, invest in solar energy

A former Deputy Vice-Chancellor,  Bayero University, Kano, Professor Adamu Idris Tanko, has called on youths in Kano State to be creative and invest their talent in solar power installation to become self-reliant and employers.

The professor made the call during the graduation ceremony of 10 solar installation students of Access Business School in Hotoro, Kano.

The students were trained on solar photovoltaic, mini-grid design and installation, energy management and efficiency.

Professor Tanko said if youths embrace solar power installation as a business, they would become independent and employ others.

The only female student among the graduands, Madina Sani, said, “I chose this to encourage other women to join this kind of entrepreneurial business. We shouldn’t just stay at home. I can install a fully operational solar power just like any other person with similar skills.”
