Media firm launches N388m grant for SMEs

A media platform, Pop Central, has launched SME Advert Grant, an initiative that will avail small businesses the opportunity of free exposure on live television.

Pop Central is giving verified Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria N388m worth of free advert grants via its station, Pop Central TV, DStv Channel 189. The grant will act as a boost to enable them to create the needed visibility in Nigeria and across Africa to promote their products and services as they navigate through the pandemic.

Nigerian SMEs contribute 48 per cent of the GDP, account for 96 per cent of business and 84 per cent of employment. This significant contribution has been affected harshly by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CEO of Pop Central, Yinka Obebe, the grant is aimed at helping SMEs recover from the reverberations of COVID-19.

Obebe said, “Verified SMEs are those that have been duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria; they are eligible and can apply for the grant via a link on our website.”
