A man, Abubakar Sadiq Jarumai, has asked a Grade 1 Area Court sitting in Gwagwalada, Abuja, to compel his wife who is seeking divorce to refund to him the sum of N1, 090,000 being expenses he incurred during their marriage.
Jarumai, who resides in Anguwar Abattoir in Gwagwalada, gave a breakdown of the expenses he claimed to have incurred before the court.
The divorce-seeking woman, Amina Yusuf, who is of the same address, had approached the court and sought dissolution of her marriage to her husband over lack of love.
She, however, denied all the claims in the marriage expenses presented by her husband, saying the only expense she knew of was the N50,000 her husband paid as dowry.
The presiding judge, Adamu Isah, adjourned the matter till November 23, 2020, to enable the defendant to prove all his claims of marriage expenses.
