The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) has said it will begin the installation of 100,000 meters for its customers from next week under the National Mass Metering Programme (NMMP).

The Chief Operating Officer of the Company, Engr. John Ayodele, who disclosed this, said it was in line with the federal government’s resolve to bridge the metering gap while implementing the new Service Reflective Tariff.

Engr. Ayodele said for the first phase of the programme ending December 2020, IBEDC is installing over 100,000 prepaid meters for those who are registered, passed the technical evaluation and paid for meters under the Meter Asset Provider Scheme (MAP).
