Media Trust was commended for “Collaboration in the advancement of Common Good of Humanity”.
The new director, however, urged governments at all levels to redouble their efforts at ensuring good governance and well-being of the people, rather than focusing on social media control or arbitrary regulation.
According to him, the social media was a revolution and phenomenon that would be difficult to stop or control easily.
Speaking earlier, the CSN Secretary General, Rev. Fr. Zacharia Samjumi, called for caution, justice and peaceful resolutions of the challenges that prompted the youths to the streets.
He also told the media that in the discharge of their duties as the Fourth Estate of the Realm, they have the sacred duty of playing their roles efficiently in ensuring that the country relishes in peace, justice and equity.
