A housewife in Kano State (name withheld) has urged a Shari’ah Court in the state to dissolve her marriage for the husband’s alleged ugly attitude of sucking her menstrual blood.
The wife also accused the husband (name withheld) of beating her and threatening her life.
Counsel to the plaintiff, Barrister Abdurrashid Balarabe Dandago told the court, situated at No 1, Kofar Kudu area of the state capital, that the husband of his client used to forcibly suck her menstrual blood.
“Whenever it is her menstrual period, he used to forcibly and even go the extra mile to bring out a knife threatening to kill her if she refuses to allow him to suck her menstrual blood. This is the reason why we sue him with hope to get justice,” the lawyer said.
However, the husband denied all the allegations against him, saying “there is no truth in all what my wife said, she did this in order to blackmail me.”
Meanwhile, the Presiding Judge, Abdullahi Halilu Kofar Na’isa, adjourned the case to 24th December for further mentioning.
