Champions League: Gov’t pledges support for Plateau United

The Plateau State government on Tuesday pledged its unwavering support for Plateau United as they bid to excel in domestic competitions and next year’s CAF Champions League.

The state Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Victor Lapang, made the pledge while interacting with players and officials of the club at the team’s training ground.

Lapang commended the players and officials on their commitment and dedication to training as they prepare to make the state proud in the coming football season.

He explained that the Government is working round the clock to ensure that all that is required is provided for them to achieve the desired results in the competitions.

In his remarks, the General Manager of the club, Pius Henwan, assured the Commissioner of the management’s resolve to continue to motivate the team in order to bring out the best in the players.

He challenged the players and technical crew to remain focused and avoid any distractions as the league and the CAF Champions League is around the corner.

It will be recalled that Plateau United qualified to represent Nigeria in the elite CAF competition after they finished top of the aborted 2020 NPFL season.
