The police said the accused allegedly ran over the deceased persons along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway while they were trying to cross the road.
The prosecutor, Ezekiel Ayorinde, said the auto crash which claimed the lives of the deceased was reported at Oko-Odo Division, Lagos State Police Command.
The prosecutor said consequent upon the report the driver was arrested and detained on the orders of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).
He said Abiodun, being the driver of the bus drove in a reckless manner and killed the victims.
“When the victims were taken to hospital, the doctors merely certified them dead and their remains were taken to the mortuary for autopsy report,” he said.
The accused plea was not taken after the prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Hence, the presiding magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in a correctional centre and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.
