I regret my action, people should pity me – Rahma Sadau

The controversial Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau, has expressed regrets for posting her pictures that generated controversies on the Social Media.

The pictures generated an argument which led to the blasphemy of prophet Muhammad by one of her followers on twitter.

Speaking to BBC Hausa service, Sadau said people should pity her over what happened.

“I have mentioned in a video that I regret that act and never thought it will lead to that controversy.

“As a Muslim, people should reason with me that I can never do something that will lead to blasphemy on our prophet PBUH,” she said.

Sadua added that she posted the pictures as she used to do and it was late at night, adding that she woke up in the morning to find out that the post was trending with more than 10,000 views.

“I just wake up to realised that someone commented on the post on twitter and it was terrible.

“I immediately removed the post and distanced myself from what he has said,” she added.

Reacting on how her colleagues in the Kannywood treated her, Rahma said they didn’t alert her about reaction the post was generating.

“Many of them might have seen the incident before me.

So, I think they should draw my attention to it, but they choose to remain quiet.

“Had it been they were just comments by people on the pictures, it won’t bother me. But it really touched my heart that my post led to blasphemy on our prophet.

“Every good Muslim will feel bad about it including me. That is why I did that video and apologised to all.”
