The Kaduna State High Court sitting in Dogarawa, Sabon Gari, Zaria, will today, (Friday) deliver judgment on whether to stop governor Nasir El-Rufai from presenting staff of office to the new Emir of Zazzau.
Justice Kabir Dabo adjourned the ruling during Thursday’s hearing to today, Friday.
Daily Trust reports that Iyan Zazzau, Alhaji Bashar Aminu, through his counsel, Ustaz Yunus (SAN), filed application for interlocutory injunction requesting the court to stop the swearing-in of the new emir, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli.
However, Solicitor General of Kaduna state, Idris Aliyu, who is also counsel to governor El-Rufai, Balarabe Lawal, Secretary to Kaduna State Government and the Attorney General of Kaduna state as well as Mr. Kenechukwu Azioyo, counsel to the fourth defendant, Jafaru Sani, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kaduna State, opposed the motion, arguing that it lacks merit since the appointment of the new emir has been gazzatted by the state government.
