At least 13 persons were killed when suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked a remote village in Chibok local government area of Borno State yesterday, sources said.
It was learnt that the invaders stormed Takulashe village in Chibok LGA at about 9am and rained bullets on civilians.

A member of the vigilante group, Ishaiku Musa, who participated in the evacuation, said that the whole village was razed down by the attackers.
“They came to the village with four new gun trucks mounted with anti-aircraft gun on each. While we gathered to mourn, we started hearing gun shots from every angle.”
Another CJTF source from Hirpaya village claimed that the terrorists abducted six persons and carted away food stuff while a dozen people sustained various degrees of injuries.
He said both the CJTF and vigilantes engaged them but they were overpowered by the insurgents, adding that many were still missing after the attacks that lasted for about three hours.
“As we speak now, the village is deserted because it was burnt to ashes and all livestock, the farm produce, and shop were looted by the invaders. They have abducted six persons from the village.
The military authorities were yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
