A former Minister of External Affair, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, says the civil unrest witnessed in Nigeria in the past two weeks shows there are no enough uniform men to guarantee the security of the country.
He said state governors had been scampering around in the past two weeks over the crisis, noting that if there are state police, “there won’t be this situation.”
He spoke on Arise Television programme yesterday monitored by our reporter.
He said the federal government was lucky that the Lekki shootings occurred at a time the world was facing a series of protests.
Akinyemi urged the government to create employment for the youth and employ more security personnel.
