The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu has approved the full resumption of all markets in the state.
As part of measures to prevent spread of COVID-19 infection and in observance of the social distancing safety protocol, the state government had in May, 2020 asked markets for non-food items to open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and food markets to open for business only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Following the approval by the Governor, all markets including food and non-food items markets in the State are now to open daily.
According to the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed, Governor Sanwo-Olu took the decision to further enhance trade and commerce, mitigate the hardship of recent times and to enable Lagosians to recover fast.
While all markets have been allowed to open daily, Dr. Ahmed advised the continuous observance of all safety protocols.
