Wife of traditional leader abducted by gunmen in Kano

Gunmen have abducted the wife of the Village Head of Tsara in Rogo local government area of kano state, Karaye Emirate Council has announced.

Information made available to the Emir of Karaye Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II by District Head of Rogo, Alhaji Muhammadu Mahraz said a large number of unknown persons in a large number entered the house of the village head of Tsara Aliyu Muhammad at 1.00 am of Friday morning and took away his wife, Aishatu.

The Information Officer of the council, Haruna Gunduwawa, said in a statement on Tuesday that the abductors shot severally into the air before taking away their victim.

He said many residents ran to nearby bush when they heard the gushots, where they spent the night.

”The District Head has notified the emir in a report that, people in Rogo district are presently living in fear as kidnapping cases are on the rise, adding that that four cases were recorded in the last two months.’’

The information officer said the emir has renewed his plea to the security operatives to improve measures put in place to end the menace and urge people to devote more time for prayers.

The police state command is yet to respond to an enquiry made on the incident.
