As Kano State government reopened tertiary schools on Monday, low compliance to the COVID-19 preventive measures was observed in some of the schools, Daily Trust reports.

Our correspondent reports that many students were seen going about their activities without wearing face masks or observing social distance and there was no device to measure temperature.

At the School of Technology, Kano State Polytechnic, it was observed that there were no hand sanitizers at the entrance and the surroundings.

At the College of Art and Remedial Studies (CAS) hand sanitizers were provided at the gate and most of the students, who were compelled to wear face mask at the gate, were seen removing them immediately they passed through.

A staff of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, however, said all arrangements have been made for the resumption of school activities.

He said students have complied with the COVID-19 protocols and lectures have commenced, as they have only nine weeks to finish this semester.
