Gridlock has taken over the Gwagwa-Karmo road where residents discovered, and broke into the FCT’s silo.
Hundreds of residents thronged the location around Tasha area in the town, were sighted falling over one another to access.
They correspondingly left the with a bag of maize and corn in their possession, a situation that caused gridlock in the area.
Motorcyclists who came across the road, made the situation even worse, as they abandoned their motorcycle in the gridlock and ran to the warehouse building along with some of their passengers to retrieve the decayed food items packaged in bags with federal government stamp.
Also taken by the looters are new water pumping machines, believed to be farming tools donated but yet to be distributed.
A Daily Trust correspondent on the road at 11.30 spent over an hour to get through the gridlock.
Police arrived to disperse the crowd.
A similar incident happen in Suleja area of Niger state, where some residents break a ware house and along the Abuja Kaduna highway.
Items comprising bags of corn, needles, provision items, textiles, and even building materials were said to be carted away.
Its however not clear whether the items are government owned or individuals.
