‘I didn’t go nowhere’, says Tinubu

All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader and Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has debunked report that he has travelled out of the country after Tuesday’s shooting of protesters at the Lekki Toll gate.

“I didn’t go nowhere. I still hold the title of Asiwaju of Lagos and I am still the Jagaban of Lagos,” Tinubu said in a terse interview after a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Social media has been awash with several reports of his jetting out to Paris, France while another leg of it said he was in London after the Tuesday’s incident.

Tinubu had condemned the incident at Lekki in a live interview on Channels Television, stressing that he had no hand in the incident.

Tinubu also clarified that he was not the owner of the Lekki Concession Company (LCC), the firm collecting toll at Lekki-Epe expressway toll gate and Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge which have been burnt down in the aftermath of the shooting.

During a visit to Sanwo-Olu, Tinubu described the various insinuations as fake news.

“Well whatever they think, fake news is all over the place. They said Seyi my son was kidnapped. He is here, look at him,” he added.

Tinubu, who looked unruffled during the visit to Sanwo-Olu at the state House, Marina, has been a target of attacks on widespread arsons in recently reported in the state.

The headquarters of the Television Continental (TVC) and the Nation Newspapers were burnt down by armed hoodlums in what appeared to be coordinated attacks on his business interests.
