Eighty-six personnel of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) have been equipped with weapon handling skills by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Regiment Training Centre (RTC) in Kaduna.
Speaking at the Defence Intelligence Agency Weapon Handling Course 1/2020 in Kaduna yesterday, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar said the training is to further increase the synergy between security agencies in the fight against terrorism and insurgency.
Represented by the Chief of Training and Operations, NAF Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal James Gwani, the CAS said “realising the need to have personnel with specialised training to meet specialised needs in force protection, the NAF subsequently trained over 4,000 personnel both overseas and locally to build up capacity in this regard.”
On his part, Commandant, RTC, Group Captain Daniel Komo said that the combined training of members of the Armed Forces and Intelligence Agency personnel will enhance synergy between both Services and other security agencies in the fight against insurgency.
