The Jigawa State government has approved Monday, October 26 as the date for the re-opening of primary and secondary schools in the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Malam Ibrahim Mamser, revealed this at the end of the State Executive Council meeting, presided over by the state Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar at the government house.
According to the timetable for the resumption, boarding students are expected back on their campuses on Sunday, October 25, while day students are expected back in their schools on Monday, October 26.
Also, he said pupils in primary 1-3 would be attending their classes in the morning, while primary 4-6 would attend classes in the evening.
Similarly, junior secondary school students are expected to attend their classes in the morning, while those in senior secondary schools would attend classes in the evening.
He added that the government had awarded the contract for the 63-kilometre Gwaram-Basirka road to Alren Construction Company worth over N5.6bn to be completed in 16 months.
The council also approved another road rehabilitation contract between Abonegu-Guri worth over N500 million, to be completed in three months.
