Ezeaku condemns NFF’s approval for NPFL to start amid #EndSARS protests

The Team Manager and Transfer Matching System Manager at Enugu Rangers International Football Club, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku has condemned the approval given by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, for the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League season to resume in November despite ongoing #EndSARS killings.

On Tuesday, the Executive Committee members of the NFF in a virtual meeting among other things commended the Federal Government for lifting restrictions on contact sports and endorsed a proposal by the League Management Company to fix the calendar for the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League to commence anytime from Sunday, 15th November 2020 and end the season by June 2021, with full adherence to the Federal Government’s COVID19 protocols and other requirements as may be prescribed.

However, in a quick reaction, Ezeaku who is a member of Players’ Status and Arbitration Committee in a Facebook post questioned why the federation would contemplate such a decision at a time Nigerian youths were being killed.
