Speaking during its commissioning, Sen. Kwankwaso said he decided to upgrade the school, which was formerly an Islamiyya in order to provide education for the children living in the area.

The former Senator who represented Kano Central in the 8th Senate said he had the vision to support the education of the members of the community up to the university level.

He said, “It is my cardinal agenda to provide education to people, especially children of the poor, it is only by educating people that they can be liberated, and that’s what our ideals stand for as a movement.

“This school has been here for a long time. But it is here as an Islamic school. Then I see the need to upgrade it to be conventional so that both western and Islamic education would be taught here,” he said.

Kwankwaso then urged the community members to make good use of the school, calling on the people of the area to maintain the school for their own good.

Also speaking, the national chairman of Miyetti-Allah Kautal Hore, thanked the former governor for the kind gesture, saying that it will play a vital role in fighting illiteracy in the area.
