The Kano/Jigawa Customs Command has commenced the training of importers, clearance agents and Chinese nationals on current import guidelines, procedures and documentation.
Speaking at the opening session, the controller of the command, Nasir Ahmed, said the need for the training was informed by numerous complaints by the stakeholders with regards to the importation businesses.
He said the command deemed it fit to come to the aid of the importers on how best to follow guidelines, especially the Pre-arrival assessment reports which always used to be their bane with regards to paying appropriate import duties.
He charged them to pay attention to the training which will go a long way in easing their importation difficulties.
Over 50 Kano/Jigawa-based importers are attending the seminar including Chinese nationals based in the states.
