Thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday witnessed the flagging off of campaign for Bakura State House Assembly bye – election, slated for October 31, this year.
Held at the Bakura town, the campaign for the APC’s candidate, Alhaji Bello Dankande Gamji for the bye- election was graced by a mammoth crowd.
Gamji, while addressing the crowd called on the security agents to discharge their duties professionally before, during and after the bye – election.

Warning against rigging of the election, he said the yearning of the people of Bakura constituency was free, fair and credible election.
He said APC supporters would conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during the election, warning however that, they would not allow the election to be rigged.
“We will follow all rules and regulations of the electoral acts, and we will defend our votes against riggers,” he said.
On his part, the state APC chairman, Alhaji Lawal M. Liman, urged members of the party to be law-abiding during the election.
According to him, the crowd that trooped out during the campaign was an indication that the APC will win the election.
Liman who presented the APC flag to Gamji, said part of the APC’s manifesto was to ensure free, fair and credible election.
