Vigilante kills 12-year-old girl in Yola

Police in Adamawa State have arrested a 28-year-old vigilante, Nuhu Dauda, for allegedly killing a 12-year-old girl, at a Point of Sale (POS) shop in Yola.

Daily Trust learnt that the slain girl, Jemima Reuben Sani, was attacked in the shop while assisting her mother who left the shop to attend an event.

Police spokesperson in the state, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, said a robber got into the shop in Badirisa in Girei Local Government Area and stabbed the girl in the neck with a broken bottle and carted away the POS machine and money.

According to him, as the police launched a manhunt, some residents who became suspicious of the vigilante after they noticed blood stains on his shirt, alerted the police.

He said the suspect was undergoing interrogation at the police headquarters while the corpse of the victim had been deposited at the hospital.
