Coordinator, Niger Delta Non-Violent Agitators Forum, Wisdom Oniekpar Ikuli, at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to get jobs and other forms of compensation for non-violent agitators in the Niger Delta.
He commended Buhari for appointing Milland Dixon Dikio as Sole Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, saying with this, Buhari had again demonstrated his total commitment to the sustenance of peace in the region.

He, however, appealed to the president to confirm Dikio as substantive coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
According to him, Dikio comes “from one of the highest oil and gas producing areas of the Niger Delta, but has been neglected and also denied all the benefits accruing to other crude oil producing areas.”
He urged stakeholders to be more committed to the actualization of the original plan of the Amnesty Programme, especially adequate empowerment of ex-agitators and their proper reintegration.
He also urged the prompt payment of monthly stipends to delegates, introduction of more impactful training programmes to meet contemporary demands in the global labour market and payment of tuition fees and in-training allowances to delegates.
