Seven SIM card registration offenders have been convicted at the Grade 1 Area Court Nyanya, Abuja and the Senior Magistrate Court, Kano, the Nigerian Communications Commission has said.
The NCC, in a statement on Sunday, said the seven criminals were convicted in Abuja and Kano on September 4, 2020 and October 24, 2020 respectively for offences bordering on violation of SIM registration laws in the country.
The commission said the commitment of NCC to stopping the use of unregistered SIM cards to perpetrate cybercrime and other criminal activities in the country was yielding results and many other criminals would soon be convicted.
