In Kaduna, protesters held a peaceful rally at the Nepa roundabout, chanting slogans like, “enough is enough” and “we want an end to SARS and banditry”, with police watching on from a distance.

Though, later an altercation ensued as police tried to disperse the protesters because they had no permission to engage in the protest.

One of the protesters, Muhammad Safiyanu, said he had not witnessed any brutality in the hands of the police but was forced to join in solidarity with those affected in Lagos and other places.

He noted that; “since harassment are meted on my brothers, because we are all Nigerians, the world must be aware that those responsible for our protection are those killing and extorting the youth.”

He added that asides the harassment youths faced in the hands of SARS, banditry has also become the norm in the north which must also end.

He further called on the federal government to “disband SARS or redeploy personnel to Maiduguri to be useful in contributing to the fight against Boko haram rather than in peaceful cities killing innocent youths.”
