Several people feared dead while houses destroyed when a gas tanker exploded at a station in the early hours of Thursday in Baruwa area of Lagos.
The incident happened around 5:45 am according to the state emergency agency which has activated its response plan.

A huge fire is currently raging on as of the time of filing this report at the gas station located along Alimosho Local Government.
This is coming barely two weeks after another explosion also at a gas station injured 30 people and destroyed 23 buildings in the state.
A massive explosion has occurred in the early hours of Thursday in Baruwa area of Lagos leaving many residents scampering for safety.

Confirming the latest incident, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) through its Lagos Territorial Office Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye said there are casualties recorded with five bodies so far recovered.
He said: “At about 20 minutes to 6: 00 A.M, at Candos Road, Baruwa Inside, Lagos, a LPG tanker was in the process of discharging at the Best Roof Plant Station and the Station Generator was on and from there it was reported that explosion erupted.
“The explosion threw the discharging tanker across the road.
There are casualties, two bodies have been recovered but search and recovery will be carried out after the emergency phase.
“Many buildings have been destroyed
“The Best Roof Gas Plant Station is located in densely populated community.”
