Lalong appoints Allahnana as Long Jan of Namu Chiefdom

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has approved the selection of Prince Safiyanu Allahnana, as the new Long Jan of Jap Jan of Plateau State.

The approval of the appointment of the new traditional ruler came after the selection by the kingmakers of Namu Chiefdom last month.

Hon. Silvanus Tapgun, the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, announced in a statement in Jos.

The statement added that “The Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, on behalf of the State Government and good people of Plateau State, wishes the new monarch a peaceful and successful reign on the throne.

Daily Trust reports that the appointment of Safiyanu came after the death of his brother, Alhaji Umaru Allahnana.
