The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) has secured sponsorship for 300 school girls in its bid to promote the study of engineering among women.
President of APWEN, Engr. Funmilola Ojelade disclosed this Friday while briefing newsmen on the occasion of the 2020 APWEN conference/annual general meeting held in Lagos and attended virtually by over 1,000 women engineers and stakeholders.

The president said the association was poised to bridge the numerical gap of women in engineering, noting that there are few women in engineering not because of their inability to surmount the rigour of engineering education but due to the mindset.
She explained that the association had distributed scholarship to some school girls in Maiduguri where it secured fresh sponsorship for 300 girls to study engineering.
