Why entrepreneurs should learn from Shabu Integrated Farms in Nasarawa – Governor

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has urged entrepreneurs and other people interested in agriculture to take a cue from the 3,000 hectares Shabu Integrated Farms, owned by the former governor of the state, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

He gave the advice shortly after inspecting the farm located in Shabu, Agwada Development Area of the state.

The Governor, who was highly impressed by what he saw on the farm, called on all those who are interested in commercial agriculture to invest in the state, with a view to helping Nasarawa State in the areas of generating employment as well as revenue.

While congratulating Senator Adamu for the feat, the governor commended him for embarking on such elaborate venture, which comprises fish farming, banana plantation, yam cultivation, turmeric, ginger, soya beans, as well as maize.

The Governor was more delighted with the greenhouses in the farm where tomatoes and pepper are being cultivated, describing the facility as comparable to what obtains only in Holland.

“This is an opportunity for other entrepreneurs and other people who are interested in agriculture to help our state because by the time this farm is fully ready for harvest, you will be amazed at the total number of people that will be employed.

“And by the time everything is fully incubated, federal and state governments support come to this farm, imagine the kind of revenue the state will also generate,” Engineer Sule stated.

Also commenting, Senator Abdulahi Adamu, thanked the Governor for showing more than ordinary interest in promoting agriculture.

Senator Adamu, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Agriculture, expressed satisfaction that within the short period the Governor came into power, he has attracted commercial farmers into the state.
