Actor Ali Nuhu has been named northern Nigeria’s ambassador for the Spanish league.
Award-winning Nigerian actor, producer and director, Ali Nuhu has promised to connect Northern Nigeria and the Spanish league popularly known as La Liga.
Nuhu was unveiled as a Northern Nigeria La Liga influencer last week by La liga, Nigerian branch during the maiden edition of La Liga/Arewa mini fans meeting jointly sponsored by Arewa Radio and Laliga in Kano.

Speaking to Daily Trust Saturday on phone, Nuhu who is popularly known as Sarki Ali or King of Kannywood, assured La Liga fans in the North that he will put in his best to promote the league and ensure they have a sense of belonging.
“You know I’m a football fan.
“I love football very much.
“We have that affiliation.
“I even have a football academy; FKD Academy.”
Asked on what his role as ambassador of the league in the North will be like, Nuhu said, “You know we have many La liga club fans in this part of the country that are very passionate about the league.
“The fans will be very happy to know that they are known and appreciated.
“That will give them some sense of belonging.
“So, I will serve as a point of contact between fans and the league.
“We will be organizing sport events where I will be personally present to discuss a wide range of issues concerning the league. That is one.
“Secondly, there are big matches and derbies in the league.
“We will watch those matches together with fans and interact at the same time.
“With this, the fans will know that they are being appreciated.
“Another thing we are planning to initiate is how to fully engage fans.
“Knowing fully well that there are many fans of Real Madrid and Barcelona, and some of lower clubs like Real Betis, Villareal and so on, we will organize some sport events where awards will be given as reward for their passion.
“By this gesture, fans will be happy knowing that the league they support is aware of them and their passion and also rewards them.”
On how this new role will influence Kannywood, Nuhu said his role as promoter of La liga is purely a football matter.
“But if at a point they decide to bring in movies into the discussion, that is when I will connect the two,” he said.
Nuhu is known for his roles in Hausa and English movies.
He has featured in more than 500 Nollywood and Kannywood movies.
