Customs appoints 2 DCGs, 5 ACGs, redeploys others

The Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd), has appointed two acting Deputy Comptrollers General (DCG) of Customs, five acting Assistant Comptrollers General (ACG) of Customs and redeployed five other senior officers.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Deputy Comptroller Joseph Attah, said the appointment followed the statutory retirement of some members of Nigeria Customs Service Management.

The newly appointed are:

  • DCG Abdullahi Babani, Human Resource Development (HRD);
  • DCG Mohammed Boyi, NCS Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC);
  • ACG Saidu Galadima, ICT/Modernization;
  • SM Modibbo, Zone ‘B’ Headquarters;
  • ACG Uba Mohammed, Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection (E,I&I);
  • ACG Hamza Gummi, Tariff and Trade (T&T); and
  • ACG Usman Dakingari, Doctrine & Development (TRADOC).

The officers redeployed are

  • DCG David Chikan from TRADOC to Finance, Administration And Technical Services (FATS);
  • Comptroller Mohammed Auwal, from PHI to PHII;
  • Comptroller Yusuf Garba from Kebbi to PHI;
  • Comptroller Hafiz Kalla from FATS (TS) to Kebbi; and
  • Comptroller Bello Jibo from Bauchi/Gombe to Seme.

The CGC in the statement described the appointments and redeployments as parts of the strategic steps taken to consolidate and build on the gains of the ongoing reforms in the Service.
