Justice Arum Ashom of High Court 4 in Jos, the Plateau State capital, has adjourned to September 29 for ruling on the application filed by Dr. Obadiah Mailafia against the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Mailafia, who was a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has been grilled twice now by the Department of State Services (DSS) Jos Office over comments he made on a radio station that repentant bandit told him that a serving Northern Governor was a commander of the terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Among other claims made by him was that during the lockdown, the insurgents were moving and distributing arms and ammunition across the country, and that their planes were moving up and down as if there was no lockdown.
The IGP then invited him again, but Mailafia rather approached the court seeking for the enforcement of his fundamental right when he was asked by the police to appear before it in August this year for criminal investigation.
His argument was that, regarding the matter in question, he is already being investigated by the DSS.
After listening to all the legal arguments, the Judge then adjourned the case to September 29, 2020 for ruling on the application.
Meanwhile Dr. Mailafia has revealed that he has, once again been invited by the DSS to appear before it next Monday, making it the third time he would be invited by the DSS in less than two months on his comments.
