The Commonwealth Foundation’s Grants Programme is open to support innovative project ideas and approaches that seek to strengthen the ability of civic voices to engage with governments to improve governance and development outcomes through their active participation.
The call is open to eligible civil society organisations from all Commonwealth Member States. Grants of £10,000 – £30,000 will be awarded for a maximum of 12-month duration.
The Commonwealth Short Story Prize is also open and awarded for the best piece of unpublished short fiction (2,000–5,000 words).
Regional winners each receive £2,500 and the overall winner receives £5,000. Entry is always free and stories can be submitted in Bengali, Chinese, English, French, Greek, Kiswahili, Malay, Portuguese, Samoan, Tamil and Turkish, and in translation into English from any language.
The competition is free to enter and open to any citizen of a Commonwealth country who is aged 18 and over.
