A combined team of military and police on Friday repelled an attack on travellers along the Kaduna-Abuja highway after bandits opened fire on motorists.
Daily Trust gathered that no one was killed in the attack but a few travellers and security personnel sustained injuries and have been treated.

Kaduna State government said the security forces successfully repelled the armed bandits who opened fire on motorists plying the Kaduna-Abuja Road near Olam Feeds Company on Friday afternoon.
The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan who disclosed this to newsmen at the scene of the incident said the injured were first treated at Olam Feeds Clinic before they were referred to a specialist hospital for comprehensive medical attention.
“Security forces, both ground and air are presently pursuing remnants of the armed bandits in the adjoining forest,” he said.
Aruwan said the state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has been briefed on the development and that he praised the security personnel for their uncommon courage and bravery in repelling the armed bandits.
“The security agencies will give a comprehensive briefing after the clearance operation in the general area,” he said.
