Fast rising afrobeat artist, Chibuike Steven Igbokwe, better known as White Lion has stated that his passion for music was the motivating factor for pursuing a career in the industry.
The South African based artist also said his yet to be released album was inspired by the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.
“ My 2020 offering Pray For Me was recorded during the coronavirus lockdown and released in July 2020.”
Officially signed to White Lion Empire, he began his musical career in 2012/2013, but only started recording and releasing music professionally in 2018 with the release of CHAMPAGNE, OBI and ‘FINE GIRL’.
In 2019 he continued putting out singles with the release of HUSTLE, followed by “DRIP UP and OPEN & CLOSE”.
White Lion hinted that he’s poised to release his first album sometime soon adding that his sound is influenced by both Nigerian and foreign artists, namely Burna Boy, Duncan Mighty, 2face, Wizkid, Jay Z, Drake and Snoop Dogg.
