Plateau United have set a target of reaching the semi-final of CAF Champions League, according to coach Abdu Maikaba.
Plateau United will represent Nigeria for the second time in the Champions League after they finished top of the country’s league, which was aborted by the Coronavirus Pandemic in March with 13 rounds of matches still to be played.

“The target is to at least reach the semifinal of the Champions League after which anything could happen,” said coach Maikaba.
“We will certainly need the support of the government to achieve this target because we are yet to start training as playing football is still not allowed because of the coronavirus restrictions.
“We only hope the ban on football is lifted soon so that we could start preparations as other countries are already doing so.”
The preliminary rounds of the competition are slated for November.
Enyimba are the only team from Nigeria who have won the Champions League, in 2003 and 2004.
Plateau United, who are based in the north-central city of Jos, were eliminated in the first round of the 2018 edition of the competition by Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia 4-3 on aggregate.
