The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its governorship campaign following the death of two persons in an accident while going for a campaign in Edo State.
Several persons were said to have sustained injuries in the accident.

It was gathered that the accident happened before Olukun junction on their way to Usen in Ovia East Local Government of Edo State.
It was further gathered that the accident happened when a truck ran into the traveling campaign entourage of top chieftains of the APC, including the immediate-past national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, killing two persons on the spot.
It was also learnt that the APC campaign team was going to Usen community for a campaign when the accident happened.
Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has called off his rally following the crash.
A statement signed by the spokesperson, APC Media Campaign Council, John Mayaki, said the suspension was to honour the dead.
“On behalf of Pastor Ize-Iyamu and the APC, I condoled with the families of the victims, they were not alone in their grief,” he said.
On his part, the spokesperson for Oshiomole, Victor Oshioke, said Oshiomhole was the target of the accident.
“We believe that Oshiomhole was the target because the truck hit the police Hilux vehicle behind Oshiomhole’s vehicle, the deceased police officers were at the back of the Hilux.
“But Oshiomhole escaped unhurt,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has condoled with Comrade Oshiomhole and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osagie Ize-Iyamu, over the road accident.
The governor, in a statement, commiserated with the families of the victims and prayed that God grants them the fortitude to bear the loss of their loved ones.
