Former commissioner for environment in Anambra state, Ifedi Okwenna, who is declaring his ambition for governorship has stated says People’s Democratic Party (PDP) must sack All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) from state government House in order to move the state forward.
He spoke in Awka as he declared interest to run for governorship in 2021.
He accused APGA of “underdeveloping” the state in the last 16 years, saying people needed a strong candidate from himself to wrest power from APGA.
“PDP must sack APGA because they have wasted our time for too long. Anambra people do not want such leaders. PDP has all it takes to win the governorship electio,” Okwenna said.
“PDP cannot be a big political party without producing the next governor of this state. Anambra needs a rebirth and only PDP can make that happen.”
He has said he will run his campaign on the plank of grassroot development through agriculture and industrialisation.
He said agrarian areas like Ayamelum, Anambra-East and West, Ogbaru and some others needed to be developed for real time agricultural production to guarantee food sufficiency and food security.
