The board of Polaris Bank Limited has said the acting Managing Director and CEO, Mr Innocent C. Ike will bring his 30 years of chartered accountancy experience to advance the bank as he assumed duty on Tuesday.
In a statement by the Company Secretary, Babatunde Osibodu, the bank said the former MD of the bank, Mr Tokunbo Abiru, had proceeded on retirement starting yesterday, after he served two terms of two years, first as Group Managing Director/CEO, Skye Bank Plc and MD/CEO of Polaris Bank Limited.
The board in the statement said in line with a culture of good corporate governance and succession planning, the Board of Polaris Bank Limited and Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), the Bank’s shareholder, announced the appointment of Mr Ike as the Acting MD/CEO effective 1 September 2020.
Mr Ike was before his appointment the Executive Director, Technology and Services while also overseeing the South-South/South East Directorate of the bank.
Mr. Innocent Ike has garnered over three decades’ professional experience in the Banking Industry. He is a graduate of Accounting from the University of Lagos, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a Certified IFRS Expert and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
